What do you do when you have tomatillos that you've not sold?   Make salsa, of course!  The salsa you see below is with our jalapeno peppers & garlic we also grew this year.

We've been selling at the Murrieta Certified Farmers Market for a month now and it has been great!   We enjoy making new friends and just love seeing our customers return and sharing their stories of how they've used our produce.  We're developing great relationships with interesting & like minded people.

We have received cooking suggestions from our customers and are going to try some of them this week.   One is chili verde with our chilies and garlic, and another is zuchinni cooked in olive oil with onions and garlic and served with spaghetti noodles.   Both sounded so fantastic we will just have to try it.  Another gentleman shared with us how to use squash flowers which we had never heard of before.  We must give it a shot!

Our First Day at the Farmer's Market...July 6 2014...a recap...

Lot's of nervousness on my part but Tina and Daniel were cool as a cucumber at our debut today at the Murrieta Farmer's Market.  We had a great time with memories of folks that tried and enjoyed the taste of our berries.  We took Anaheim peppers and zucchinis as well...but the enthusiasm focused around our berries.  Here's a picture of our 'first sale' and yes, we are keeping the $10 bill that they paid with.

Our biggest sale went to my brother Don and his wife Lola.  Lola will be taking our berries and jam to "Healing Hands" wellness center to share with the folks that cannot make the trek over to the Murrieta Farmer's Market.

Thanks to all that came out and supported us.  From the people that enjoyed their first 'yellow raspberry' to the little girl that found a blackberry a little too tart- we appreciated the experience!

Tomorrow is another BIG Day...

We launched this website earlier in the week and are feverishly finalizing preparations for our debut at the Murrieta Certified Farmer's Market tomorrow.  We are taking berries, several types of jam, zucchini squash, and Anaheim peppers.

Plenty of help to get us to this day (a tip of the hat to Mother Nature, the property itself, helpful neighbors and grandkids) that went with a few minor detractors (gophers and some bureaucracy to navigate) but ultimately- the plants worked with the bees to give us product that we are proud to share.

Sharing our experiences is what we intend to use this blog for.  These are new and exciting times and we hope you enjoy and offer your recommendations as we gratefully make this little piece of heaven in Chihuahua Valley CA a place that is as special to you as it is to Tina and I.
